A Blair Park golf pro told African American doctors Perry Little, Hubert H. Creft, and Dr. George Simkins they could not play. The trio left their greens fees on the counter and played nine holes. They returned two days later, left the greens fees again, and played nine holes. Blair Park became the 3rd municipal golf course in NC to be fully integrated on February 21, 1956. Dr. Simpkins also helped integrate Greensboro’s Gillespie Golf Course in 1955.
