Landscapes of Freedom: Rivers of Survivance

April 11 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
The history of our region traditionally centers on European settlements and the late 18th-century battle to establish independence from Britain. Less visible are the movements of people and the pursuit of livelihoods and communities that existed before the commemorated military events and continue to the present day. Explore the region’s shifting populations and maps through the lens of indigenous scholarship to illuminate beyond 250.
The event will take place in the Visitor Center Movie Theater.
This program is part of three related programs presented in partnership between Greensboro History Museum, Greensboro Public Library, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, and Guilford College. This project is supported through a grant from America 250 NC, a program of the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
