SUMMARY:The Heritage Book Club Celebrates America250NC\, Spring Selection: A Perfect Frenzy by Andrew Lawler
DESCRIPTION:The South has always been a few steps off the pathway that the rest of the country has followed. And there were factors involved that may seem counterintuitive to the overarching ideals of the Revolution in the Southern decision to come to Massachusetts’s aid.
One of these was Lord Dunmore’s proclamation as royal governor of Virginia to offer freedom to escaped enslaved men in exchange for military service suppressing rebels\, and the burning of Norfolk\, which was a hotbed of Loyalists. Virginia’s decision was important because it was the largest and most prosperous colony. We delve deeply into these matters with Andrew Lawler’s A Perfect Frenzy (in-person and virtual options available). \n\n\n\nThe event will take place in the Board Room at the High Point Public Library. \n\n\n\nTHIS EVENT IS DESIGNED FOR THOSE 18+
